Do you want to know more about the Props and Set Decorating Departments on large scale HETV dramas?

Do you think you have transferable skills but not sure how to make the move?

 

GETTING STARTED IN PROPS & SET DECORATING is a FREE online training programme supported by the ScreenSkills High-end TV Skills Fund with contributions from UK high-end TV productions.

 

This course will examine what the props and set decorating teams do on a HETV drama production and what you need to know to get started successfully in these departments.


This course will include: 

  • An overview of the art department and how set decoration and props work together

  • How the departments are structured – the different jobs, who does what and when

  • What skills and knowledge you need to have to succeed

  • Who to contact, and when, to get onto productions

  • What to expect – and what will be expected of you

  • How to be a successful freelancer and get on to productions – and importantly, get asked back!


This training will be delivered online over 5 weeks, with one session per week on the following dates:

YOU MUST BE ABLE TO ATTEND ALL SESSIONS


SUITABLE FOR

This course is for those with little or no industry experience, or those looking to transfer into props or set decorating from another department. You must be a UK resident with the right to work in UK.

Free. The programme is supported by the ScreenSkills High-end TV Skills Fund with contributions from UK high-end TV productions.
