ABOUT

This full-day day workshop, based at Classic Prop Hire, is the perfect starting point for anyone wanting to work as a Junior Petty Cash Buyer on feature films and HETV dramas. Whether you are looking to move into the role, or have done so recently, this workshop will answer your questions and give you an opportunity to practice your skills.

The morning session will focus on what the job entails, how to do it successfully and how to get onto buying teams. We will be examining the following areas:

· Roles, responsibilities of a Petty Cash Buyer

· Required skill, knowledge and entry routes for Petty Cash Buyers

· Paperwork

· Buying etiquette

· Working across different budget ranges

We will then have a tour of Classic Prop Hire and Seasons Textiles, led by the team at Classic. This will give participants an opportunity to see what is in the space, how props and textiles are booked and how the Prop Houses liaise with Set Decorating and Props teams.

This will be followed by a practical exercise, supported by the Classic team, to put new knowledge and skills into use in the right environment.
