We deliver our Stepping up to Art Directing programme with funding from the ScreenSkills Film and HETV Skills Funds.
This specialised programme is aimed at Assistant Art Directors and Draughtspeople who are looking to learn more about the Art Directing role on feature films and HETV dramas.

This is a modular programme with 4 weekly sessions. The first 3 will take place on Zoom and the final session will be in person in central London.
Travel, accommodation and dependent care bursaries are available for those coming from outside the M25.
Participants will examine the role of Art Director and understand how to manage the demands of the role successfully.
We work with established feature film and HETV drama Art Directors who will share their experiences and offer guidance on how to be effective.
Topics will include preparing Location intentions, scheduling workflow, collaborating with other departments, managing a team successfully and understanding how to thrive under the pressures of the job.

“This was a fantastic course - having a different topic each week was extremely effective and allowed us to explore it in greater depth. The timing of the zooms was also ideal and meant we could join after work. No question was left unexamined and I have a new found confidence and sense of excitement in the role. Thank you!”
