Brad Blackbourn, Visualisation Supervisor at The Third Floor inc. has over 25 years experience of visual storytelling on features, HETV, Theme Park Attractions and AR/VR/MR experiences world-wide. Prior to joining The Third Floor, Brad set up and ran IO Entertainment, where he and his team developed new visual storytelling tools, technology and processes for feature film visualisation. He has also held positions as Head of Previs at Dreamworks Animation and Double Negative and Director of Photography and Head of Layout at Framestore. His credits include; Spectre, Paddington 2, Venom, Avatar, Detective Pikachu, Aladdin, Kung Fu Panda, Captain Phillips, Rush, Spider-Man: Far from Home, Artemis Fowl, Dark Knight Rises and Harry Potter.

Brad discussed what Previs is and where it came from, the various flavours of “vis” and what purpose each of them serve on a feature production, how pre-visualisation is used as a developmental and storytelling tool, how Virtual Production is driven by Previs, what the future of Visualisation looks like and why close collaboration and integration between the Art Department and Previs is key.
