FLEXIBLE WORKING & JOB SHARING

A job share and flexible working Session with @filmbaseuk where we talked to a panel of Art Department crew who have successfully job shared, or negotiated flexible working conditions, on Film and TV productions.

Joining us to discuss the pros and cons of flexible working and how best to make it work were the following panelists: Kathy Heaser and Heather Pollington, Graphic Art Directors (Lord of the Rings, Little Mermaid, Eternals, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil and Mary Poppins Returns) who have successfully job shared on the credits listed, among others; Phil Sims, Supervising Art Director (Mission Impossible 7, Star Wars – The Rise of Skywalker, Mission Impossible – Fallout), has employed several job share partnerships and discussed how to ensure job shares can work for the team and provided advice on how to present flexible working options to HoDs; Corina Floyd, Production Buyer (Cruella, Star Wars – the Rise of Skywalker, Mary Queen of Scots) who successfully job shares in her current role; Dom Capon, Set Decorator. Nearly 20 years in the industry and a Set Decorator on major motion pictures such as The Flash, Captain Phillips, Justice League, Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again & Maleficent: Mistress of Evil. Dom has employed many job share partnerships as part of his set dec team, on various productions.
