Having previously tried to get onto the mentoring network programme at the start of the year, I was delight to receive a place in April. Having heard nothing but great reviews about the programme, I knew this would be the course to aid me in the direction I wanted to persue, and I couldn’t wait to get started. It also came at the perfect time during the lockdown period and gave me real focus in this very uncertain times ahead.  Helen explained at the start of the programme that things would run slightly different this time round as the workshop are usually run in small groups face to face in Brighton. Instead, every was done via Zoom meetings and was spread out over several weeks. This worked extremely well, was a valuable resource and I found was easier to digest and absorb being taught in smaller chunks. Each segment was very well thought out and Helen & Andrea were very knowledgeable, explained everything in great detail and left no stone unturned. What I also found very valuable was that the time what was taken to make sure that I was matched up with the perfect mentor which could also assist me with my career path. And I wasn’t just handed to anyone which wouldn’t have been my perfect match. Finally I would like to make a special thank you to all of the other mentees who again we picked by Helen to make sure we were all wanted to work within the art department or set dec. This meant we had a lots in common and all our questions asked were relevant to all of of us. Since completing the programme and encourage by Helen we have all stayed in touch and continue to support each other as part of a community. Once again thank you to everyone on the course especially you Helen for all the hard work you’ve put in to running such great programmes for the film and television industry. I am now looking forward in starting a new chapter in my career path, with a clear direction teamed with valuable knowledge.
